No, the cosmetology certification requirements in California require only a very basic knowledge of the art of make-up. Our courses are designed to take students well beyond those requirements, so that they can practice their trade as make-up artists effectively and profitably . There are currently no certification requirements for make-up artists in the State of California
Karoliâ„¢ Make Up school provides everything except the model(s) you will work on, so bring a friend or two with you, as they will get a free makeover as you learn the application techniques under the guidance of our instructors
Yes, that is pretty much what our BEGINNER level class is all about. You will learn to apply a very chic and natural looking daytime make-up, as well as how to transform it into a more striking and dramatic look more appropriate for evening use. You will also learn the essentials of contouring
How can I use the skills I will acquire to make a living?
The Advanced and Professional course levels are designed to provide you with the techniques and skill set essential to success as a make-up professional. Our graduates generally find work in beauty salons, the fashion industry, or as theatrical and on-camera make-up artists.
How are you different from other Beauty schools?
Traditional beauty schools focus on preparing their students for state certification in either or all of three areas: Cosmetology (a fancy name for hair dressing, hair dyeing, perming, etc) Estheticienne (which is about spa treatments such as face peels, face masks and facials) Manicure (which is about caring for the hands and nails). WE FOCUS ON MAKE-UP and teach our students the skills and techniques that will enable them to become make-up artists
